produced by Legendary Pictures and distributed by Warner Bros, Legendary being an American production company and Warner Bros as well as Toho which is a Japanese production company. The film is directed by Rob Letterman and written by Nicole Perlman. The film was also produced by the Pokemon Company and stars Ryan Reynolds as the voice of Pikachu. Justice Smith, Rita Ora, Kathryn Newton all are part of the cast. Pokemon is a Japanese game/series that first came out in 1996 on the Nintendo Gameboy
The casting of Ryan Reynolds attracts lots of other audiences other than Pokemon fans because of his previous roles in Deadpool and the Hitman's bodyguard.

The establishing shot is slightly low angled and shows a futuristic setting, peaceful through the natural lighting which highlights the huge skyline of buildings
This high angle mid-shot of Pikachu makes the introduction to his character friendly and adorable, encouraging the audience to love the well-known character. However the older audiences would recognise Ryan Reynolds as a comedic and violently offensive actor.
Nostalgia; the older audiences who have followed Pokemon for years will heavily appreciate seeing Pokemon amongst real people, making many of their dreams a reality.
Hermeneutic codes through making the audience question the disappearance of the main character's father
This scene brings mystery as well as comedy, with the typical Ryan Reynolds character coming out with Pikachu losing patience very quickly and resulting to violence which however the 'mime Pokemon' uses an invisible wall to separate them. Example of a shot-reverse-shot; going back and forth between the two characters.
12 Year old gamer who loves video games would be my primary target audience.
This film is being sold on nostalgia.
