Magazine industry

Woman magazine is demonstrating a dominant ideology, meaning it's a mainstream media product; it's for every woman.

- Friendly mode of address
- Cluttered cover emphasises fun over fashion
- Inclusive, laid back lexis
- Easily approachable fashion choice
- Model is approachable too
- Mise-en-scene familiar and obtainable to the working class

- "Splash out on a wine rack which takes six man-size bottles."
- "Bolster his comforts with a striped head-rest cushion."
- "Biggest fallacy is that all men enjoy nights out with the boys."
- "When a girl wants to find out whether their boyfriend really cares, all she has to do is eavesdrop on his conversation with other men."
- The whole article is based on being sexist towards men, showing patriarchal hegemony with showing women how they can keep them pleased as well as how men live their lives, the article gives information about men, how they dress, how they think and just things the working class working class women the information they need about men.
- It's not a regular feature, it's a special feature meaning it won't be in every edition.
- This article gives the audience the pleasure of finding out information that they wouldn't know if they hadn't read the magazine, making it seem as if men are a whole different species.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The article however can be seen in a way of how it's demeaning men, it's presenting a very stereotypical viewpoint on men, taking the piss out of them possibly.

- "Man is creation's masterpiece. but who says so?" shows men are big-headed and vein through how they're stating they're dominant and the best creation in the world.
- The dominant image is of a woman treading on a man, implying female dominance; with the facial expressions of the woman being overly-happy. The gender roles having switched, as if she's taking over and how she's in control with physical dominance from how she isn't wearing shoes. However if it was the other way around there could be some sexual connotations and would be less of a joke. The mise-en-scene of the female pose he's pulling isn't a stereotypical manly thing to be doing; risqué.
