Year 2 introduction

The black lines surrounding the model's face may infer people need to fit into a certain shape in order to be considered stereotypically attractive. the actual shot is most likely purposely blurry to be subversive and maybe rough. the title 'anOther' could be linked to the idea that the model on the front cover is just another model in the industry and is no more important than the last. Mise-en-scene of her hair is very limited and probably would be considered masculine, creating a binary opposition between the genders. you can automatically tell it's a high end fashion magazine because of how it is unconventional and purposely out of the ordinary which brings in a niche audience.
high key lighting of the image connotes self love and positivity as if the light is on her; showing her significance. her subtle makeup could be seen as unconventional for a high end fashion magazine.

Tyler, the creator is seen as a unconventional artist these days because of his fashion and genre of music. the colours used on the cover are pastel colours which create a binary opposition from the blue and orange as they create a clear contrast. Tyler himself in the image appears to be almost hiding in his hoodie and behind his hands which could connote his subversive style with him not wanting to be a stereotypical celebrity, with often not wanting to have all the attention to himself, could also be inferring shyness or vulnerability. there is very little text on the cover with the anchorage being placed on Tyler the creator. Tyler the creator could potentially come across as more feminine as he doesn't come across as a stereotypical young black man wearing a hoodie. There is a direct mode of address which sometimes makes the audience feel intimidated but however as the audience we don't feel anything like that.
