Zoella

Judith Butler - gender is a performance; sex and gender are two different things

Sex is our biological entity defined by chromosomes; Gender is demonstrated by how we act and what we choose to be

Gender performativity isn't stereotypes, it's the way our gender performance influences the world around us.

Zoella isn't real, Zoella is a hyperreal representation as we can only see of her what she wants us to see.

"We live in a world where there is more and more meaning, and less and less meaning" - Jean Baudrillard

Zoella is presenting a perfect world, she has a perfect non-sexualising boyfriend. This hyperreal world is to distract ourselves of our own world which is far too confusing to understand.
